Vega Live
The daddy of Copenhagen’s live-music venues, Vega hosts everyone from big-name rock, pop, blues and jazz acts to underground indie, hip hop and electro up-and-comers. Gigs take place on either the main stage (Store Vega), small stage (Lille Vega) or the revamped ground floor Ideal Bar.
The venue is a 1950s former trade union HQ revamped by leading Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen.
Loppen
Rocking out in an wooden-beamed warehouse in live-and-let-live Christiania, Loppen delivers both established and emerging acts from Denmark and beyond. Music styles are as eclectic as the crowds, with anything from rock and funk to post-punk and jazz. While gigs generally take place Wednesday to Sunday, always check the website before heading in. Huset-KBH
Huset KBH is an institution, churning out almost 1500 annual events spanning live music, theatre and arthouse film, to poetry slams, cabaret and stand-up comedy. The complex also houses a waste-free restaurant using surplus produce donated from the food industry, with all profits going towards humanitarian projects in Sierra Leone.
